This brutal 1972 effort was the very first Italian genre flick to show graphic cannibalism and was incredibly influential.

Vincent Price stars as the sole survivor of a worldwide plague that revives its victims as bloodthirsty vampires. During the day, he canvasses his abandoned hometown, tracking down and stalking his former friends and neighbors, always making sure to return before nightfall, when the dead rise to assault his fortified house. Hope arrives in the form of an apparently normal young woman (Franca Bettoia), but her agenda proves to be even more sinister than that of the vampires.This dvd release comes just in time to cash in on the release of the family friendly big budget Will Smith remake. (Which I won’t bother promoting by name) If you haven’t already added this horror classic to your collection now is a good as time as any.
