The publishing, movie and music industry all have been desperately trying to figure out how to use the internet to their benefit for years, but sometimes it seems that it has cost them more than it has helped them. Recently Kevin Cogill was arrested for leaking the new Guns N’ Roses album online and now author, Stephanie Meyer of the bestselling Twilight books, is so upset that the latest Twilight book, Midnight Sun was leaked online, she told MTV: “for all intents and purposes, Breaking Dawn is the last book.”
Meyer told her fans that she did not want “readers to experience Midnight Sun before it was completed, edited, and published,” and that, because of the leak, she feels “too sad about what has happened to continue working on Midnight Sun, and so it is on hold indefinitely.”
And of course the fans have their teenage panties in a bunch, demanding campaigns to “call, email, and stalk” Meyer to release the last book.
All I have to say is “OMG RELAX” there is no way, with the cash cow that Twilight books are, that they won’t release the last in the series, leak or no leak. Maybe this is why Meyer is so good at writing young adult fiction, because she knows how to throw a hissy fit like one.

TRAPPED ASHES (2006)
In the late 60’s and early 70’s, anthology horror movies poured from low budget production houses throughout Europe, including the time-honored BLACK SABBAT from Mario Bava and EC Comics inspired Tales From The Crypt by Freddie Francis. Anthology horror on the big screen took on new life in the US in the 1980s with CREEPSHOW and sputtered out in the early 1990s with TALES

The network who brought us Todd Mcfarlane’s very dark, Spawn and the violent Rome, has passed on turning Garth Ennis’ comic book, Preacher into a one-hour series because it is too dark and violent.
Mark Steven Johnson (Daredevil, Ghost Rider) told Comics Continuum:
“We were budgeting and everything and it was getting really close to going, but the new head of HBO felt it was just too dark and too violent and too controversial. Which, of course, is kind of the point!”
HBO offered Johnson a chance to tone down the series but thankfully he declined. If they’re not going to do it right then I rather them not make it at all.
Preacher Vol. 1: Gone to Texas
Preacher Vol. 2: Until the End of the World
Johnson said: “It was a very faithful adaptation of the first few books, nearly word for word. They offered me the chance to redevelop it but I refused. I’ve learned my lesson on that front and I won’t do it again. So I’m afraid it’s dead at HBO.”
There is still a chance that the Preacher may make it to the big screen, and hopefully if it does, it doesn’t turn out like the watered down version of Constantine.

Its Labor Day weekend and everyone is at the beach or something, because I can hear crickets on the internet. So here is a not-so-exciting picture of Paris Hilton from Darren Lynn Bousman’s Repo! The Genetic Opera, which was just awarded the honor of BEST SCI-FI MUSICAL STARRING PARIS HILTON from EW.com.
