Piper Perabo to Ride David Hackl’s Red Machine

Posted by Uncle Creepy on January 31, 2012

Piper Perabo to Ride David Hackl's Red MachineYes, that headline sounds kind of dirty, but sometimes we just cannot help ourselves. In any event more casting news has come for the next flick from Saw V director David Hackl. Dig it!

According to Deadline Piper Perabo will star opposite Billy Bob Thorton, James Marsden and Thomas Jane in director Hackl’s Red Machine.

She will play a deaf photographer who is engaged to Beckett (Jane), whom she met during the Iraq War. The story revolves around two estranged brothers (Jane, Marsden) and their girlfriends (Perabo and an actress yet to be cast) who go camping in the Alaskan wilderness. An erratic grizzly relentlessly stalks the two couples, who are forced to rely on their own senses and skills to survive.

Rick Cleveland and J.R. Reher wrote Red Machine, which Tai Duncan, Dominic Ianno, Stuart Pollack, Hadeel Reda, Paul Schiff, and David Valleau will produce.

Shooting begins this month in Vancouver.

When the Lights Go Out Trailer Flickers Online

Posted by Uncle Creepy on January 31, 2012

It's been a while since there was anything to report on the new UK fright flick coming from the producers of Bend it Like Beckham and Moon entitled When the Lights Go Out, but a trailer has come, and we have it for ya here.

Look for more on When The Lights Went Out, formerly Speak No Evil, soon. In the interim dig on the trailer below courtesy of Quiet Earth.

Based on true events, the Pat Holden-directed thriller is set in Yorkshire, 1974. Britain is in recession; the oil crisis and blackouts loom large. The Maynard family move into their dream house, only to find a "presence" already living there.

Len (Steve Waddington), Jenny (Kate Ashfield) and their daughter, Sally (Tasha Connor), must struggle to keep their already fragile family together as they are attacked by poltergeists. Soon it becomes apparent that Sally is their main focus of attention. The house becomes a living nightmare. They must exorcise the evil spirits for them to survive.

Halloween: The Complete Authorized History will be heavily illustrated, containing hundreds of rare images, documents, props, artifacts, and promotional materials culled from the Trancas archives and personal collections of those involved. It’s Good to Have Friends in New Trailer for Yakuza: Dead Souls

Posted by Kenny King on January 31, 2012

In Sega's new trailer for Yakuza: Dead Souls, they remind you that, "It's good to have friends with shotguns." However, I'd take the guy with the gatling gun for an arm over a shotgun toting friend any day.

Yakuza: Dead Souls will task players with not only taking on the Japanese underground in Tokyo, but they will have to take on an invading zombie force as well. The game will be a new take on the Yakuza series as the classic combat system has been replaced with a whole new shooting system with a variety of weapons composing the game's arsenal. The game will feature four iconic characters from Yakuza's past as well. Did I forget to mention the zombies? Everything is better with zombies.

You can find more information about the game at the Yakuza: Dead Souls website. You can also visit the Yakuza website to find out more about the Yakuza series.

Make Prototype 2 Even Better with RADNET

Posted by Kenny King on January 31, 2012

Just when you thought Prototype 2 couldn't get any more badass, Radical Entertainment announces a new downloadable content promotion called RADNET to ratchet up the hype for the game even more!

RADNET will contain 55 unique pieces of content for Prototype 2 that will be released over a seven-week span beginning on April 24, 2012--the same day the game is released for Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. The content can be accessed by a one-time use code included with the game, and the content is varied and includes in-game events, challenges, avatar items, themes and much more. RADNET is absolutely free, but it will be included in new copies of the game for a limited time only. I hope I don't sound too much like a cheesy infomercial, but this is some great content, folks; don't miss your chance to own it!

From the Press Release
"Radical Entertainment has always focused on bringing long lasting fun to its fans, and PROTOTYPE 2's RADNET content is our way of rewarding the game's most loyal supporters — the early adopters, the ones who will replay it over and over again," said Ken Rosman, Studio Head, Radical Entertainment. "We think this is great because we're giving our fans hours of additional gameplay outside PROTOTYPE 2's main narrative and cool rewards — all delivered weekly following the game's launch!"

For more information on the promotion, check out the RADNET Q&A page on the Radical Entertainment website.
