Entertainment Weekly has scored the first look at the official trailer for CBS's big budget TV show "Extant," and we have this interstellar bad boy right here for you to dig upon! Halle Berry birthing aliens? We're so in it's not even funny!
"Extant" premieres on Wednesday, July 9th, at 9/8c on CBS.
Synopsis: "EXTANT" is a mystery thriller about a female astronaut, Molly (Halle Berry), who is trying to reconnect with her family when she returns after a year in outer space. Her experiences lead to events that ultimately will change the course of human history.
Goran Visnjic portrays John, Molly's husband; Pierce Gagnon plays their son, Ethan; Louis Gossett, Jr., plays Quinn, Molly's father; and Camryn Manheim plays Sam Barton, Molly’s best friend. Michael O'Neill and Grace Gummer also co-star. Guest stars include Josh Malina as Dr. Scott Beck, the lead doctor in an emergency room of the near future.
"Extant" is a co-production of CBS Television Studios and Amblin Television. Steven Spielberg, Greg Walker, Mickey Fisher, who wrote the script, Brooklyn Weaver, Justin Falvey, and Darryl Frank serve as executive producers. Halle Berry serves as co-executive producer.
Michael O'Neill, who's been so chillingly great during this season of "Bates Motel," is next going to be seen on CBS in "Extant," and the part of his character's daughter will be played by soon-to-be ex-"Grey's Anatomy" co-star Tessa Ferrer.
Per TV Guide, Ferrer (who is singer Debby Boone's daughter and also related to actors José, Miguel, and Rafael Ferrer) will recur as Katie Sparks, an over-achieving astronaut and the offspring of O'Neill's Alan Sparks, who serves as the director of the ISEA.
Ferrer (pictured) currently plays Leah Murphy on ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" but won't be returning next season so the timing couldn't be better for her transition from scrubs to spacesuit.

Just when we thought the cast of CBS's upcoming new series "Extant" couldn't get any more impressive, along comes the news that Oscar, Golden Globe, and Emmy winner Louis Gossett, Jr., has joined the project.
Per TV Guide, Gossett will play Quinn, the father of Halle Berry's female astronaut character, Molly. Affable but undependable, Quinn, a retired doctor living out his days in an isolated island community, is out of touch with the world and estranged from his daughter.
Best known for An Officer and a Gentleman and "Roots," Gossett is slated to appear in at least two episodes beginning with Episode 1.04.

Jules Stewart's lunacy in prison opus K-11 is getting set to make its DVD and Blu-ray debut courtesy of Breaking Glass Films, and we have all the details you need on whether or not to sentence your cash flow to a worthy purchase!
From the Press Release Breaking Glass Pictures and Libertine Films are proud to announce the upcoming April 23 Blu-ray (SRP $29.99) and DVD (SRP $24.99) release of Jules Stewart’s directorial debut, K-11, a riveting drama that tells the story of a man’s plight after winding up in K-11, the Los Angeles County Jail’s transgender inmate unit. K-11 is currently screening at select theaters in fifteen cities around the country and is available nationwide on Video On Demand.
K-11 stars Goran Visnjic (ABC-TV’s new hit series “Red Widow”, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, “ER”) as Raymond Saxx, a businessman whose drug use leads him to incarceration in the section of the Los Angeles County Jail reserved for LGBT inmates and firmly under the heel of Mousey (Mexican superstar Kate Del Castillo, Under the Same Moon, “La Reina del Sur”, “Weeds”), a malicious transgendered inmate. Saxx has no idea how he got there — all he knows is he needs to get the hell out... alive and intact. Aggressive cellmates, corrupt officials, and his own issues are just a few challenges he faces while he pieces together a way out of this entirely new kind of rabbit hole.
K-11 also stars DB Sweeney (Taken 2), Jason Mewes (Jay & Silent Bob, Clerks), Portia Doubleday (Kimberly Peirce’s Carrie, Youth in Revolt, Almost Kings), and Tommy “Tiny” Lister (The Fifth Element, Jackie Brown). Jules' son, Cameron Stewart, makes his film debut in K-11 as Sledgehammer while daughter Kristen (The Twilight Saga, On the Road) makes a special contribution.
The Blu-ray and DVD will come complete with a commentary by Jules Stewart and producer Tom Wright, deleted scenes, interviews with key cast and crew, a behind-the-scenes featurette, the “My Liberty” music video by cast member Billy Morrison, and a photo gallery.
